word up is a business activity of McCrindle Research Pty Ltd (ABN 99 105 510 772). By submitting your information to us through word up, you therefore agree to abide by these Terms And Conditions. We reserve the right to vary the rewards, rules and conditions of any element of word up at any time.

McCrindle Research's purpose is to research Australians with word up giving a channel for young Australians to share their lingo and creative vocabilary. As a research company, we are part of the market and social research industry, which is governed by the Australian Market and Social Research Society. We comply with the AMSRS ethics and privacy policies.

Information Collected

We are not a marketing agency. We will never divulge your details to companies for the purpose of marketing products or services to you. We will never allow companies to communicate with you other than for genuine research purposes and with your permission. All the information that you provide us is yours and you are able to request it, update it, or ask us to remove it from our databases as you wish.

We request your first name to reference you in our publications. We request your year of birth to determine your age and to make sure that you are in our target age group. We also request your email address to contact you should you win our prize giveaway.

The Prize

The prize is a new 2GB white iPod nano valued at $199.00. The prize is non-transferable or exchangable nor can it be taken as cash.

Conditions for Prize Competition

The competition is open to residents of Australia only. Individuals must be aged 14 years and over to be eligible. Individuals aged under 18 must have parental permission before submitting their details. An individual may submit as many words as they like, giving them a higher chance to win the prize. All submissions will be the property of McCrindle Research. McCrindle Research reserves the right to disqualify any individual who tampers with the submission process. McCrindle Research reserves the right to request proofs of identity or other documents to authenticate information you have provided us, prior to sending out rewards.

The Competition

Each submission will be judged by the McCrindle Research research team. Each submission will be judged on its own. The winning criteria include, but is not limited to: creativity, uniqueness, clarity of description and completeness of example.

Winner Judgement Date and Notification

The winner will be judged once we have reached our target number of words. This is estimated to be reached by the end of 2007. The specific date is yet to be confirmed. The winner will be notified via email, as submitted through the word up web site.

Disclaimer of Warranty

McCrindle Research makes no warranty or guarantee in regards to, the accuracy and reliability of the information obtained, the prize obtained and the uptime of the network and service.

Limitation of Liability

All visitors to word up releases McCrindle Research, its parents and affiliated organisations, its directors and employees from any claim for liability, damage or loss, whether direct or consequential, in regards to visiting our site, the use or unavailability of the our site and the prize received by the winning submitter.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify McCrindle Research, its parents and affiliated organisations, its directors and employees against any claims and third party claims, demands, damages, legal and other costs, penalties or suits arising out the use of word up.

Changes to and Termination of Our Policies, Terms and Conditions

These Policies, Terms And Conditions are effective until terminated by McCrindle Research. McCrindle Research may terminate or change these Policies, Terms And Conditions at any time without notice.

Governing Law
These Policies, Terms And Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of New South Wales and of the Commonwealth of Australia.
